Terms of use
Snitch is a free demonstration. It reads what your browser gives away, after asking, and shows it back to you. These are the few things you should know before using it, and the few things we ask of you. What it reads and keeps is on its own page: the privacy policy.
Who runs it
Snitch, at snitch.alphaventure.com, is run by AlphaVenture, Office No. 802, 8th Floor, Anum Empire Building PECHS Shahrah e Faisal, Jinnah Housing Society Karachi, 74200, Pakistan. Write to hamad@alphaventure.com about anything on this page. "We" below means AlphaVenture.
What it is
- A demonstration, not a service. It shows what a website can learn from an ordinary visit. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to buy, and you should not rely on it for anything.
- It is changed by an AI agent, in public. An agent works on the site every four hours and puts its own changes live without a person reading each one first. Every change is listed, with what it was for, on the page about how it is maintained. So the site can change, or a part of it can stop working or disappear, at any time and without notice.
- It advertises itself. The agent buys ads for this site on LinkedIn and Google Search. The ads lead here; nothing on this site is an ad for anyone else.
What we ask of you
- Use it for yourself. Agree at the door only for your own browser. Do not let it read a machine that someone else is using without telling them.
- Do not use it to look someone up. Near the end, the demonstration searches for a public LinkedIn profile matching the name your browser filled in. Let it fill in your own details, and do not pick a profile that is not yours.
- Do not try to get round the door or the limits. Parts of the demonstration pay outside services for every use, so each network gets a few profile searches and songs a day, and the site as a whole has a daily ceiling. Do not try to get past those limits, past the door, or past the parts that work only on a test copy.
- Do not run it by machine. No scripts, scrapers or load tests against the demonstration and the addresses it calls. Reading and linking to the public pages is welcome.
- Do not attack it. No attempts to break in, to slow it down, or to make it say something to other visitors. If you find a weakness, write to us and we will fix it.
We may block a network that does any of these.
What it writes about you
Most of the sentences the demonstration shows you are written at the moment by AI models, from what your browser reported. Some are deductions, and they are meant to sound sure of themselves. So:
- they can be wrong, because a reading can be wrong and a guess can miss;
- they can be blunt or unflattering, because the demonstration is a performance;
- they are not advice and not a statement of fact about you, and nobody decides anything about you from them;
- we do not publish them. You may keep a copy of what was written about you.
If something it wrote is offensive or plainly broken, write to us and a person will look at it.
What is ours
The site's code, design, words and pictures belong to AlphaVenture. You may quote it and share screenshots of what it showed you, with a link back. Your readings and your details are yours; what we do with them, and how to erase them, is in the privacy policy.
What we promise, and what we do not
We promise that the site does what the privacy policy and the door say, and nothing else with what it reads. We do not promise that it is available, accurate or free of mistakes, or that any part of it will stay as it is. You use it as it is, and as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using it.
When these terms change
The date at the top of this page is the date of the current terms. When they change, the new terms apply from that date. A change to what the demonstration reads is also put to you at the door, which asks again.
The demonstration
That is all of it. The demonstration is at the front door, and it tells you what it reads before it reads anything.
